Also beware of the African Advance Fee Scam. It comes in many different forms but eventually they ask for credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or some money in advance with a promise they will give money back and more. Do NOT believe them. Click here for more information.

One of the newest scams is a "so-called' ministry (usually claiming to be in London) inviting pastors to speak at a youth conference. They promise to provide all your expenses and give a generous honorarium, however, they will eventually ask for your back account number so they can make a deposit into your account, but instead they will actually steal money from your account. Pastors beware of this newest scam! Before accepting an invitation from a minister it is wise to have them give you their phone number so you can call and verify whether the number is theirs and that the country or area code is where they claim to be.
